Breaking News -- Government says 106,185 bought health insurance in first month

Only 26,794 people have bought health insurance from the federal health care marketplace in the first month it was open, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Wednesday. Another 79,391 used state exchanges. That's just a fraction of the 7 million people the government estimates will buy insurance in the first year of the Affordable Care Act.
